Site Ethos
The purpose and values behind Walking With God.
A Shared Resource
Walking With God is intended to be a shared Christian resource. Wherever possible, contributions, suggestions, and feedback are welcomed from ministers, church leaders, fellowship groups, and individuals who have a genuine desire to help others grow in faith.
The aim is not to promote one person, one church, or one denomination, but to provide material that may encourage and assist Christians in their daily walk with God.
Content Before Appearance
Visual presentation matters, and we hope the site will eventually be attractive, clear, and easy to use.
However, our primary concern at this stage is not graphics or appearance but content, structure, and purpose. We believe that useful, reliable, and well-organised material is of greater long-term value than an impressive design with little substance behind it.
The design process therefore begins with identifying what is worth sharing before deciding how it should be presented.
Evaluation as Participation
Evaluation is often treated as something that happens at the end of a project. We see it differently.
The purpose of evaluation is not simply to comment on what has already been done but to provide an opportunity for people to help shape the structure, content, and direction of the site as it develops.
Constructive criticism, suggestions, and alternative viewpoints are welcomed. In this way, evaluation becomes participation rather than an afterthought.
A Broad Christian Perspective
My own background is Pentecostal. However, Walking With God is intended to serve Christians from all denominations and traditions, as well as those who may simply be exploring the Christian faith.
The common focus is not a particular denomination but a shared desire to know and follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
No one should feel excluded because of denominational background, church affiliation, or lack of affiliation.
Looking Beyond One Person
None of us knows how long we have to serve, and no project should depend entirely upon a single individual.
For that reason, Walking With God is being developed with continuity in mind. The intention is to build a resource that can be maintained, developed, and passed on to others if necessary.
The hope is that the site will continue to serve people long after its original structure and contributors have changed.
Working Together
We recognise that God is at work in many churches, fellowships, house groups, and ministries. Where appropriate, we hope to include material from a wide variety of sources and traditions.
The aim is not uniformity but mutual encouragement, learning from one another, and helping people grow in their relationship with Christ.
Your Thoughts Are Welcome
Walking With God is intended to grow through the involvement of others. If you have suggestions about the site's content, structure or direction, or material you believe may be helpful to others, please get in touch.
