When Responsibility Approaches
Churches have a remarkable supply of misunderstandings whenever responsibility is approaching the building.
Sometimes a misunderstanding is simply a misunderstanding. But the word can also make a failure seem like something nobody chose and therefore nobody needs to put right. The person in need misunderstood the church's intentions; somebody misunderstood how serious the need was; everybody misunderstood who was responsible. By the time the misunderstandings have been carefully distributed, responsibility has quietly left through the fire exit.
